Iris is a loner. At the age of five, she lost her parents in the war. Demons were everywhere. Bodies writhed on the ground, so many that she couldn't see the once beautiful forest floor. Her parents lay in a bloodied mess on the other side of the clearing, buried beneath the hungry mouths of the Furies, winged beasts with leather skin and eyes as deep black as an abyss. In one burst of rage and helplessness, Iris raised her hands. Water rose from the creek and rushed down on the beasts, washing them, and the remains of her parents, out of her life forever. That was the day she found out about her powers. Now, eleven years later, Iris lives contentedly tucked away in the wilderness. As a Fair Folk, or otherwise known as Fairies, she finds peace within nature and the animals that she surrounds herself with. Her faithful companion, a red fox, is the only company that she needs.
